The Bulldog Divers is a family-run dive centre based at Baobab Beach Lodge in Vilanculos, Mozambique.
Founded by Philip and Marlet Schutte, our team brings years of diving experience from South Africa's Ushaka Marine World to the reefs of Bazaruto Archipelago. 

Some people fall in love with the ocean.
We decided to live in it.

At The Bulldog Divers, our story starts back in 2005 - countless tanks, hunderds of dives, and one unforgettable chapter when our founder, Philip, helped open uShaka Marine World in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. As part of the specialist dive team, he caught and transported the incredible marine life that would go on to fill the aquarium's tanks, giving thousands of visitors their first glimpse of the underwater world. That same passion for marine life has been at the heart of everything we do ever since.

Enter McGyver - our English Bulldog, best friend, and now official dive centre mascot. He may prefer the beach over the deep blue, but his bold spirit and unstoppable charm inspired the name The Bulldog Divers. To us, he represents everything diving is about: loyalty, courage, and always ready for the next adventure. 

Today, we're based at the breathtaking Baobab Beach Lodge in Vilanculos, Mozambique - your gateway to crystal waters, vibrant marine life, and some of the best dive sites in the world. Whether it's your first dive or your hundredth, we'll make sure it's personal, safe and unforgettable.
